Marshall Point Light

After the Pemaquid Point shots I decided to move out of my box a bit. I decided to shoot a light I have never been to before, Marshall Point Light. I must be crazy (those who know me will verify that I am crazy) because I was up and out before 4:30 am on a 1 1/2 hour ride to catch sunrise. On the way it was totally overcast and even rained but we (my oldest granddaughter and I) persisted. When we got there the wind was so strong that only a few of my shots did not suffer from motion blur. I was really happy I went... it was all worth it.

I hope you like them

Pemaquid Point Light

Well I went back the next morning to try again for some sunrise shots. As I got close I could see there would be no spectacular sunrise display like the day before as there was not a cloud in the sky. Oh well, I decided to just to get better shots of the light. On the way back I spied a pumpkin that I had not seen the day before. It was a little creepy shooting it as a person was killed during the parade this year in a freak accident. I had used my 35mm lens the day before but decided to use my 18-55 VR for the wider view.

Thanks for looking folks

When it rains it pours ...

I decided to get a few photos this morning and decided to go to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse to catch the sunrise and golden hour ... Well I blew the entire spectacular sunrise as I was too late by about 1/2 hour Dang it!! But I did get a little golden sun and might even go back in the morning for another try. The cool thing about it is that I lucked into the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta. What is that you ask? It is a festival to celebrate BIG pumpkins. The big one this year was 1375 pounds. These pumpkins are big enough to put an outboard boat motor on and use it as a boat!!! hence the Regatta. Pictures speak louder than words

As I drove through Damariscotta I knew I would be back to get some shots of these!!

I got to the ocean too late but did manage a few

And Last but not least the Big One

trying...

I was out and about today and finally managed to get a few shots. I have a current challenge that I am shooting for at www.fujimugs.com . The challenges there keep me going even when I am down. I hope to post something tonight or at least by the end of the weekend. Winter is coming and I plan to start some topic posts with images I have taken this summer and older if they fit. Topics like "Elwifes" or "Sugering" ... maybe "Trees" and such like that. At least it will keep me busy through the winter and hopefully give you something to look at. Sorry for the dry spell it will rain sprinkle soon.

Thanks for stopping by to look
